Hate the Girl, Not the Dress

It’s the biggest Fashion Event of the year and the majority of outfits make you hate the one wearing the stunning silhouette. No this is not the Oscars; it's the Met’s Costume Institute. So many likes and dislikes, so much love and hate, you’d never know we were in a recession-just the way I like it.

Kate Bosworth makes great fashion choices and I love this Stella McCartney

I don't care if you hate it, Leighton Meester looks amazing

I almost didn’t recognize Agyness Deyn without her high-end grunge gear. She looked stunning in a Burberry metallic

Mary-Kate Olsen wore Christian Lacroix couture- this is almost as good as my Alexander McQueen dress and this is why MK inspires me

Ashley Olsen-Thank you for the surprise, it’s all about the back.

Big Names, Big Mistakes.

Ew Madonna, you’re like 50, dress your age. Sorry, but we don’t want a rework of Material girl

Anne Hatheway tried to hard and failed...better luck next time, Go back to your roots with some Devil Wears Prada

Rihanna- are you the next Diane Keaton? Please say No

The Costume Institute is a time to shine and my spotlight is about to come. It’s all about the couture and oh so much more.

I’m high on fashion and it’s never going away. Call me cykotic

Cykic As Muse

Alexander McQueen- I need to borrow/ have to have a dress from your Indian inspired Fall 2008 collection for the Met’s Costume Institute for the Models as Muse exhibit, which takes place May 4, so a speedy delivery is necessary. $7500 a table with stunning fashion everywhere I turn-Totally worth it.

Life is so hard.

-Stay tuned, we’re in for a wild ride or a recession blunder.

I've been drooling over this dress since day -

Thank You Alexander.

Marc Jacobs serves as Honorary Chair of the Gala.

Co-Chairs are Kate Moss; Justin Timberlake; and Anna Wintour

I Know Your Secret

Now that Topshop is open in New York, I feel that we deserve a sneak peak at their newest collections.   I have a habit of touching clothes and stroking my hands across a garment I have fallen for. London gets a look...thank you Susie Bubble, but I want a personal preview in person. From the look of it, I will be purchasing a variety of outfits for the fall.  Let's just hope New York isn't behind about three seasons, since I know we are as of now.  Thanks a lot Sir Phillip Green, did you really think we wouldn't find out?  Susie Bubble did a fantastic job of photographing the new collection.  I must apologize for jacking her pictures, but readers need a little visual for my praise.
~I'm seasons ahead, so let's see if Manhattan's Topshop can top that.

Luxury Dumbed Down...ew

Matthew Williamson’s collaboration with H&M hit stores today. Great, another fabulous designer sold to making a cheap-o line for those who can’t afford these luxury goods. Londoners seemed to have camped out for the opening of the collection. I’ve never been a fan of this so-called “trend” most people love. However... when your price is going down, so is the value of your clothing. Do what you can to make some moola in this recession, but remember designers; you’re special because of the beautiful creativity of your designs and the value that I can’t afford. Forgive me for harsh words but if you think about it…

Don't Try This At Home

Who’s Expecting Now? It is not Angelina or Madonna, Its Lily Donaldson with a fake bump. High fashion Pregnancy? Nope, just a salute to what the French can do and American’s can’t. Cigarettes and the overwhelming job of a hot mother took over French Vogue’s April issue. Controversial: definitely, genius: For Sure. It’s the cutest thing since puppies became the newest accessory. Leave it to French Vogue Editor Carine Roitfeld to hand us the forbidden American photo shoot and triumph above all.

-Hmmm Scandalous

"We'll Solve Any Crime By Dinnertime"

Elizabeth & James for Steve Madden
Let’s add to the MK & A empire and make a shoe line for Elizabeth & James in collaboration with Steve Madden. Smart move twins, an item that I think will do great in the land of talented celeb designers. No Lauren Conrad Ella Moss knock offs for me please, only designers with a signature style. The girls are always parading around in sky-high heels and I’m certain that will model their collection. The shoes will range from $195-$500, a little pricey, but I think it's a bang for your buck. They may not be acting, but MK & A are in the limelight with arrows of success pointing towards them, not you. So quit with the drug accusations, the girls are genius and make fashion look effortless.
~I do it everyday.

Mary-Kate giving you a sneak peak of their shoe line, I'm lovin' it.

I'm Trippin' on Trash

Being that I am related to a favorite of the New York punk designers, I feel it is my duty to show a little family love and dedicate this post to an inspiration of mine, Daang Goodman. If you’ve lived in New York for years, you should know about the punk following on St. Mark’s st. and the hippest store on the block, Trash and Vaudeville. At age 6 I remember walking hand in hand with my cousin, scared shitless as I walked down the old dirty New York (some like to say the best of NYC), but when I stepped into the store, my eyes lit up. Clothes that confused me and fashion that made a statement. It was like magic because no one back at home would ever wear this, unless of course Hot Topic was his or her favorite store. Trash is truly a landmark and Tripp NYC by Daang Goodman (the spotlighted brand) is a religion to all punks of New York. We all have our own style, and mine is one of eclectic, and I learned that from Daang Goodman.

Keep it coming Daang because you’re leader, and those other designers are your followers.

I grip my mom’s wrist tight and turn to see Jimmy (one of the oldest employees), hugging my mom in her electric blue velvet coat by Tripp NYC; I look to see his ass crack is showing. True Rock N’Roll and a reoccurrence every time I’m in the store.
-Love me some Trash

Keep Dreaming Because You'll Never Be This Good

I don’t have the time to see all of the crappy Superbad and Forgetting Sarah Marshall Movies. Spare me the dirty jokes that I’ve heard before and all the new I wish I were Ben Stiller or Will Ferrell actors, but when Valentino: The Last Emperor came out there was no question about whether or not I would fit this legend into my busy schedule. It was a documentary based on the 45 years of Valentino’s success. His impeccable construction, his all about me attitude, and his five pugs kept my eyes wide open and jaw dropped. From June 2005 to July 2007, the filmmakers shot over 250 hours of footage with exclusive, unprecedented access to Valentino and his entourage.
A big part of the film showed Valentino’s longtime business partner and close friend, Giancarlo Giammatti. He is so much more apart of the Valentino line then you could ever imagine. Without him Valentino would still be successful, but not as much of an empire as we know it. In this 1 hour 30 minute long film, you learn just how unbelievably talented Valentino is. No one will ever have his skills of a couturier like himself. Dressing Jackie Kennedy Onassis and Audrey Hepburn is an honor of its own and Valentino takes the crown of success in his career.

On September 4, 2007 Valentino announced that he would retire fully from the world stage after his last Haute-Couture show in Paris. He delivered his last women's Ready-to-wear show in Paris on October 4 to an insane applause. Go see this Master piece directed by Matt Tyrnauer and remember you’ll never be as talented as Valentino
The truth hurts, but Valentino will always reign over you.

It's Banana's!

Anorexic, Extremely Tan, and a little obnoxious, but nonetheless flawless style. Speak your peace about Rachel Zoe, but she is doing better than most of the people who badmouth her crazy antics. I personally love her style and find her ridiculously hysterical, but you got to be a little insane in the fashion business. I know I am. We’re both Jewish fashionistas hardcore, so of course we’d be close friends.

You can’t deny the stunning jewelry owned by Rachel Zoe. Lucky you, it’s going on sale at DecadesTwo in Los Angeles. It was an invite only event that took place last night. The items that aren’t sold will be auctioned off on DecadesTwo.com and on the store’s eBay page. The money will be donated to the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance. See, Jews aren’t stingy: Bravo Rachel Zoe Rosenzweig (yes, that’s her full name).

Rachel Zoe: You’re bananas and I’m going to steal your Cartier Jaguar ring that I’m positive isn’t for sale. I stand by you Rachel Zoe and your choices in fashion but be careful because I cannot only write about fashion, I can style too. I have a lot up my sleeve.

The Jayme Cyk Project is underway and the critics give it 5 Stars.
Fashion takes over my body and won’t let me escape.
-It’s Bananas!

Paris, je t'aime

We hear that the French dislike the Americans, but oh no, no ma chérie, I know that the House of Paris fashion would adore what I would have to say. Here’s a little of my take on Paris Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2009.

Captain, the ship has taken off. Nina Ricci by Captain Oliver Theyskens is taken us back to the space age. Volumized shoulders and architectural designs makes up our slow movement into a transition of the future. Une belle!

Balmain by Christophe Decarnin is bringing sexy back with more sequins and mini dresses screaming for legs! Legs! Legs! Erin Wasson made a comeback strutting down the runway proving she’s a triple threat, modeling, styling, and designing. Balmain was hot, and from those bright lights and all that black I’m sure the models were too.

Nicolas Ghesquière is a genius, but this was not one of my favorites of his. Pleats, jewel tones, and prints in draped silk summed up his collection. It was a softer feminine look for Nicholas. Beautiful, but not as inventive as usual. Ghesquière, I vote taking it up a notch for the next collection.

When I think Maison Martin Margiela, I think alien. It was intangible and I believe some sort of statement was to be made. I don’t really know where anyone would wear this collection unless you were Britney Spears making a comeback from an MTV performance. Like him and his collection, it was invisible. Fashion is supposed to be complex and put you into a different place, but Maison Martin Margiela caused just plain confusion.

Of course Lanvin was alluring, when is it not? Completed with red, black and neutral tones, Lanvin was adorned in trims and ornaments making this collection have attitude and sophistication all in one. Beautiful shapes and fur created this cohesive collection, keeping Lanvin in its safety net. I'm a realist," declared designer Alber Elbaz. And realism is what he gave us.

Isabel Marant makes the best clothing for girls. Who doesn’t want to wear this! It’s so Parisian, so New York, so Cali, It’s girls just wanna have fun 2009 style. Another collection where I can say I WANT IT ALL and ALL of it will be worn in good health. Keep it up Isabel, I’m always impressed.

Again Paris wasn’t in my travel plans this year, but the French better watch it because I’m going fashion crazy full speed ahead.

~Au Revoir America, You will miss me
